The Street Choir is bigger and better than ever in 2021!

After a difficult 2020, when the choir transitioned to online rehearsals, phone hook-ups and socially-distanced outdoor rehearsals, the choir has emerged bigger and better in 2021! We have seen a 50% increase in our membership over the last year, in part due to the enormous efforts of James Paul, our director, Leonie Oakes, our Social Welfare Officer, as well as our dedicated team of volunteers - Dave, Graham, Patty and Margaret.

The Sydney Street Choir now runs 3 choir programs a week - at Redfern Park, Miller and at Dillwynia Women's Prison - with over 100 people a week participating in our programs!

This year the choir has already done some amazing performances, including a huge gig at the Sunset Piazza event, at Martin Place, and the Chauvel Cinema . The choir has started new rehearsals at Miller, near Liverpool and has been warmly received by the local community, gaining a number of new members. We also recorded recently at Studio 301, Australia's best recording studio with the recording being released soon on social media.
